Power Purchase Agreements
Future-Proof Your Business with Solar Power Purchase Agreements (PPA)
As a result of fluctuating energy prices, UK companies are forced to cut operating costs while achieving their Net Zero targets. Historically, the greatest barrier to adopting sustainable energy has been the enormous initial capital cost attributed to infrastructure. With our Solar Power Purchase Agreement (PPA), ARC eliminates this barrier. ARC’s PPA provides a financial model that allows your organisation to have a high-performance solar array located on-site, without having to incur any upfront costs. Under the terms of this agreement, ARC finances, installs, and maintains the entire system. Your organisation receives the solar power generated by this system at a significantly discounted rate, typically between 20% and 40%, compared to current electricity rates.
When your organisation chooses an ARC PPA, you not only convert your roof to a valuable asset, you also will receive immediate financial and environmental benefits. With your PPA, you will be guaranteed to receive lower energy prices than you would from any alternative source, allowing your organisation to mitigate future increases in energy prices due to market changes and inflation.
Additionally, ARC retains the responsibility for the performance of the system and for ongoing maintenance/upgrade services; thus, there are no surprises as you transition your organisation to using renewable energy sources. Finally, the custom solutions that ARC provides, as part of your PPA, will not only help you reduce your carbon footprint, but will enhance your reputation as a socially responsible company, demonstrating to your stakeholders that your organisation is at the forefront of the UK’s effort to move toward sustainable, clean forms of energy.
Secure Affordable Renewable Energy for Your Business with No Upfront Cost
In the UK energy market as it exists in 2026, there continues to be instability with traditional grid commercial pricing often changing between £0.24 and £0.28p/kWh, making it hard to predict what you will pay for electricity in the future; therefore electricity is no longer just a cost item that is considered by the Finance Department of a company but a Strategic Risk reported to the Board of Directors.
To eliminate these variables, ARC Renewables has developed a Solar PCR and Offtake Consortium Model (or PPA) to provide you with certainty and eliminate any Uncertainty associated with energy consumption/usage. By utilizing our PPA approach, you can finance, install and maintain a high-quality solar PV system that will allow you to eliminate the substantial capital required to build your Green infrastructure. The PPA allows your business to purchase at a Preset below market energy, usually £0.10p – £0.14p/kWh; therefore, your business will immediately save up to 50% on electricity compared to buying from the Grid.
What is the Process of a Power Purchase Agreement for Solar Work?
We want to make going green with Solar as easy as it is financially rewarding for your business. With ARC Renewables, our PPA model takes the hassle out of energy management, allowing you to benefit from solar power, while we will do all of the technical work for you. Below is our four-step process that is easy to follow, and will provide your company with the power of the sun:
1. Comprehensive Energy Assessment and Site Suitability
ARC Renewables conducts an extensive assessment of the needs your business has for energy, taking into account the suitability of your site in order to find solar systems that will work perfectly for your organization.
2. Customized System Design and Professional Installation
The solar system we design and install will be customized to fit your property, ensuring maximum efficiency, along with the highest quality renewable energy production.
3. Long-Term Fixed Rate Energy Purchase Agreement
You agree to purchase the energy that will be produced at a fixed, above-market cost, for the length of time you select, providing you with a hedge against escalation of energy costs, and long-term savings.
4. On-going System Maintenance and Operational Support
All system maintenance and operations for your solar system will be performed by ARC Renewables to guarantee that your business will have the most efficient operating system for the least amount of down time associated with clean energy.

Frequently Asked Questions – Power Purchase Agreements (PPA)
What is a Solar Power Purchase Agreement?
Yes! A Solar PPA (Power Purchase Agreement) with ARC Renewables means we will pay for all of the costs related to the design, structural surveys, and grid applications; and then install everything. You won’t incur any CAPEX costs when you enter into a Solar PPA, but you will pay for the amount of solar energy that your company consumes, which is usually at a much lower rate than your current grid tariff.
How Much Can My Company Save on Energy Costs?
Depending on the size of your roof and energy use, most companies in the UK see their daytime electricity units reduced by 20% to 50%. Because your PPA rates are fixed (locked-in) and/or inflation-linked, the savings from your solar project will continue to increase as grid prices rise over time.
If My Solar Panels Break or Require Cleaning, Who is Responsible for Repairs and Cleaning?
ARC Renewables is still the owner and operator of the solar panel system, so we have full responsibility and liability for 24/7 monitoring, repairs, insurance, and routine maintenance. If at any time the solar panels do not perform as expected, ARC Renewables would lose revenue. Therefore, it is in our best interest to keep the solar panel system operating at peak performance level at all times.
What happens to the excess solar energy produced by our business?
Any unutilized solar energy produced by your business is routed back to the National Grid by default. You will only be charged for the electricity your business uses in real-time, or “behind-the-meter.” When your building is not producing solar energy, such as at night or during cloudy weather, it will draw power from the National Grid seamlessly, just as it currently does, and thus provide you with a continuous supply of electricity.
How long is the typical term of a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA), and can we buy it out early?
Most Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) have a standard term of 15 to 25 years for the purpose of allowing the capital investment to be recaptured and recovered over that time frame. However, most PPAs include provisions for early buy-outs of the solar power system at predetermined intervals during the term of the PPA (often five years, ten years, or fifteen years). If your financial circumstances change throughout the duration of the PPA, you will be able to purchase the solar power system at fair market value.
What happens to our Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) if we sell our building or relocate?
Your Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) is associated with the electric meter of your building, not with you. Therefore, if you sell your building or relocate, the PPA remains with the property and will be transferred to the new landlord or tenant. The new tenant will benefit from lower energy bills but will not have had to invest in the solar power system, thus the PPA will often be viewed as a “selling feature” of the commercial property for the new tenant.
